STATE v Renier

New judge in Duluth was prosecutor in Congdon Murders case

John DeSanto was the prosecutor in Steve's killers murder trial in 1983. John went on to a great career and became a judge in MN. He is a wonderful friend.

John prosecuted the notorious 1977 Congdon murderers and co-authored a book concerning the trial. (A Will to Murder)
He told me (Lee) that in 48 cases, he won every case but the Marjorie Congdon Caldwell Hagen case - you could tell that he regreted that Marjorie got away with the murder. (She was thought to kill others and was convicted of arson in 1985 in MN, arson in 1991 in Arizona and of forgery in Arizona in 2008.)
